Portesham Village Hall

Portesham Village Hall, built in 2000, is an attractive modern hall situated on the edge of this picturesque village in the heart of the Dorset countryside. It has good facilities, including a small garden and car park.

Its location with a lovely backdrop of hillside makes it an ideal setting for special occasions.

Main Hall


Spacious, and with a high-ceiling, the Hall holds a maximum capacity of 130 seated theatre style. It has a free standing stage with stage lighting, good catering facilities and is suitable for parties, weddings and concerts. Please note that due to the proximity of residential property, amplified music is monitored by a noise limiter, which will cut off the entertainment electricity supply when upper level noise limits are exceeded.

Double doors open onto a small pleasant garden, with lawn and direct access to the car park. The kitchen is adjacent, with a large serving hatch to the rear of the Hall. There is a good supply of electric power points and lighting

Measures 9.2m x 16.5 m with additional stage area 5.5m x 3.6m

 

Committee Room (Ron Doble Room)


This smaller, comfortable room, holds a maximum capacity of 50 people, is accessed directly from the foyer, and is suitable for smaller functions and meetings.
There is a hatchway straight to the kitchen for serving teas and coffees.

Measures 4.4m x 5.4m

 

Garden


This attractive garden measuring 9 m x 20m is directly accessed by three doors from the Main Hall and leads onto the car park. It is ideal for use as an added function area for hog roasts, barbecues, activities, bouncy castles and drinks receptions.

 

Kitchen
The kitchen is fitted with a gas fired range cooker, industrial dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge and a full set of crockery, glassware and cutlery. There is also a large expanse of worktop

 

Toilet facilities
Ladies and gents toilets with showers and changing room, as well as a dedicated disabled toilet with baby changing facility.

 

Furniture & chairs
100 upholstered banquet chairs, 50 plastic chairs. Tables: 10 rectangular aluminium tables, seating 6-8 people each; 10 rectangular melamine tables, seating 6-8 people each; 10 melamine square tables, seating 4 people each.

 

Crockery and cutlery
Whilst there is a good selection of crockery and cutlery in the kitchen, a full set of matching banqueting crockery and cutlery is available for hire. A complete range of tumblers, wine and beer glasses are also for hire.

 

Digital Projector

A digital projector and screen (both kept off-site for security) are available for approved events.
